Off the Beat is the premier modern rock & pop a cappella group at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Rooted in rock music, our repertoire now spans a range of genres from pop and R&B to electronic and jazz.
Founded in 1987 and now in our 30th year, Off the Beat has become one of the most decorated collegiate a cappella groups in the US winning over 30 CARA Awards, being featured on 16 Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) albums, and starring in the second season of POP TV's aca-docu television series, "Sing it On!"
Recently, in addition to competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs) for two years in a row, Off the Beat has had the distinct pleasure of performing at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, opening for "The Sing Off" season 1 winners Committed (Oakwood University), and serenading former Vice President of the United States Joe Biden. But above all else, we love singing together and creating sweet music for all of you.
